Yes, you’ll definitely need a blender if you want to enjoy a Daily Harvest Smoothie. You’ll be adding water, juice or even milk to the frozen contents, to make your smoothie. I used filtered water to make mine.
A cheap blender will do, so you don’t have to get anything fancy if you don’t have the funds available. I loved my personal sized blender and it held up well, until I was able to upgrade.
If you have a little money to invest, here’s the blender I use and LOVE so, so much. I also have this one, for when I make family-size shakes and drinks. They are around the same price, but are totally different sizes. I tend to use my Ninja Duo most, especially for my DH Smoothies.
Discovering wheatgrass in this smoothie was such a treat! I was super excited to try it. And let me tell you, the blend of the following ingredients did NOT disappoint. Sometimes a green smoothie can taste really bitter and bland. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this Daily Harvest smoothie was.
I’m incredibly excited to try the Strawberry and Peach Smoothie next!
The Banana + Greens Smoothie has the following ingredients:
- Organic Bananas
- Organic Cucumbers
- Organic Spinach
- Organic Kale
- Organic Lemon Juice
- Organic Wheatgrass Powder

Let's Make A Banana And Greens Daily Harvest Smoothie (Video)
Want to see how incredibly easy it is to prepare a frozen smoothie from Daily Harvest? Check out my video below. I also had to film in a temporary space, so forgive the lighting/quality. I have BIG news to share, soon. Eeeekkkk!
Can I Keep Daily Harvest In The Fridge?
No. Daily Harvest states directly on the container that the contents are perishable and to store frozen. They also state to not thaw or refreeze the smoothie. Freezer only, it is!
Because Daily Harvest is delivered with dry ice and meant to be stored in the freezer, it’s important to put everything away as soon as possible. Just grab it out of the freezer when you’re ready to prepare your frozen smoothie. Easy, peasy!
My Favorite Daily Harvest Banana + Greens Smoothie Hack
I am on a get-healthy journey and eat a plant-based diet. I’m always looking for ways to get more plant-based protein into my every day meals. I have a favorite vegan, organic, plant-based protein powder that I use pretty religiously and love that it has 20g of protein per scoop.
I simply made my Banana and Greens Daily Harvest Smoothie following the directions on the container. I used filtered water and blended that with my frozen ingredients. Once that was mixed, I added a scoop of my protein powder to the blender and blended the new mix for just a few seconds.
Holy, amazing! I am officially hooked on this Daily Harvest hack.
I’m 99.9% sure I’ll always add a scoop of protein to my greens smoothies or perhaps even make a thicker greens smoothie bowl in the future. It was SO delish. And with the calories being lower in the protein powder I use, my hack meal came in at 230 total calories, 23g protein, 3g fat and 25g net carbs (30g total carbs).
Do I Recommend The Banana And Greens Smoothie From Daily Harvest?
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. I love the greens smoothie as-is. It’s such a delicious snack and gave me a boost of energy. Adding protein to my second banana + greens smoothie was mind-blowing. It was so delicious and I was able to get a really great serving of protein in, making this yum snack into a delish meal!
The first thing that came to mind when trying the smoothie was how easy it was to eat healthy when I didn’t have time to prepare a snack from scratch. I didn’t have to chop or prep or measure out ingredients. I didn’t even have to give a second thought to ingredients.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love creating new recipes, but sometimes my days are an absolute blur and I’ll straight up forget to eat or drink anything.
I have four kids and one of my sweet boys is nonverbal autistic and requires eyes on him 24/7. It’s honestly very easy for me to forget I even have nutritional needs most days of the week.
Daily Harvest truly helps keep me on track, keeps me fed and helps me during the times I need help the most.
100% a fan.
