You’ve probably gathered by now that I have quite a sweet tooth. I can’t help it, ok? Instead of depriving myself of the sugar I so clearly love, I decided to make healthier choices. One of the ways I do this is with my lunch salads. Finding new ways to indulge in a sweeter salad has been super fun and my Sweet Cranberry White Cheddar Apple Walnut Salad Recipe doesn’t disappoint!
White Cheddar Cheese mixed with Cranberry is a match made in cheese-heaven. It’s rich, fruity and sharp. It’s soft enough to use on salads, sandwiches and to make charcuterie board dips with. You can even use cranberry white cheddar cheese in soups. YUM!
What Fruit Goes Well With White Cheddar Cheese?
Cranberry, of course! When I came upon the Emporium Selection Cranberry White Cheddar Cheese at my local Aldi, I was jumping for joy! This baby flew into my cart so fast, I didn’t even think twice about what I was doing. If you are a Girl Planted Salad Blog return visitor (thank you), then you know this mama of four loves eating a sweet salad for lunch. I also really love putting together charcuterie boards and individual charcuterie plates, which makes this cheese a perfect fit.
Don’t have an Aldi close by or can’t shop in person? I found this cheese on amazon, which got incredible reviews.
What Do You Eat Cranberry White Cheddar Cheese With?
This cheese is incredibly versatile. It can be used on top of a salad with leafy greens, like I did for this Sweet Cranberry White Cheddar Apple Walnut Salad Recipe. You can also use this cheese on a sandwich, in a dip with crackers and veggies or even in a soup! I love using the cranberry white cheddar cheese on a charcuterie board. Because I’m such a fan of this cheese, I am planning to make a dip for a charcuterie plate soon. Yes, of course I’ll share the recipe with you!

A Simple Lunch Idea For Meal Prepping
Are you into meal prep? I am making an honest effort to get better at meal prepping and my newest Amazon find, a Bentgo Salad All-In-One Salad Container is INCREDIBLE!
I’m putting together an unbox and review post next, because I love it so damn much. Not only is it spacious, but it kept my Sweet Cranberry White Cheddar Apple Walnut Salad fresh. It’s a great size and hello, it’s pink.
They have other colors too, of course.
A Low Calorie Salad Recipe With Fruit
Looking for a low-calorie salad recipe that has fruit in it? I can help with that! This deliciously sweet cranberry white cheddar apple walnut lunch salad is just 350 calories.
Please note, the Greek Vinaigrette dressing I used for my salad, along with the grain crackers were NOT included in the nutritional label for this recipe. I kept these items out of the main salad recipe so you could easily add whatever dressing and grain (optional) you desire!

My Favorite Meal-Prep Lunch Salad Container
This beauty is a 54 oz salad bowl to go, making it perfect for meal prepping your lunch or dinners. The interior compartment tray is great for separating out your foods and maintaining portion sizes. This brand comes with a 2 year warranty and supports Feed The Children. It’s dishwasher safe, BPA-free and the snap side closures help keep the container closed in transit. I’m IN LOVE and can’t wait to add more containers from this brand’s colorful product line.
What Is The Best Dressing For Fruit And Lettuce Salad?
Any vinegar and/or oil based salad dressings pair well with a fruit and lettuce salad. I personally love using a red wine based vinaigrette dressing, like this one. I will warn you though, it is a super sweet dressing. The salad alone, is pretty sweet because of the cranberry white cheddar cheese and apple pairing. So if you don’t want your dressing to add to the overall fruity bite, choose an avocado oil based dressing like these store-bought keto-friendly salad dressings.
I’m actually working on a salad dressing taste and compare resource post now. I’ll be putting together a very simple and basic house salad and putting each of the avocado oil based dressings to a taste-test and comparison. I cannot WAIT to see the results and share them with you, soon.
Sweet Cranberry White Cheddar Apple Walnut Salad Recipe Notes
- If you’re wanting to toss together a sweet, light, healthy salad FAST, this is a fantastic option.
- If you happen to be into meal prep, you might really dig this all-in-one salad container as much as I do. I’m obsessed and have 4 more added to my amazon shopping cart. Shh! Don’t tell my husband, ok?
- I weigh all of my ingredients in grams, unless its a liquid, like the salad dressing. I did NOT include the salad dressing I used in the nutritional label for this salad recipe so you can add your own. I recommend a red wine vinaigrette or an oil-based dressing paired with this recipe.
- This salad is perfect for Spring and Summer, especially if you’re in Ohio like me and are super sick of the dark dreary depressing Winter days. Give me some sun, already, am I right?!
